The LPN provides compassionate and engaged patient care that meets quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include assessing clinical, mental, and spiritual needs while adhering to hospital policies and South Carolina licensure standards.
Candidates must be a graduate of an LPN program and hold a valid South Carolina LPN license or a temporary permit. Current BLS certification is required, with PALS and ACLS encouraged or required depending on the unit.
He/She ensures that compassionate, engaged care meets or exceeds quality standards. Care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the South Carolina licensure and AAMC standard of care.
Minimum Education Requirement Graduate of a LPN program. IV Therapy course within one year of licensing.
Minimum Experience Requirement Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles as well as hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates ability to provide quality patient care; communicates and works effectively with people; possesses ability to assess patient's needs, i.e., clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual.
Minimum License Requirement Licensed to practice as Licensed Practical Nurse in State of South Carolina or have licensure from another state with application to South Carolina Board of Nursing for licensure with temporary permit. BLS current. PALS encouraged within 6 months of hire. ICU:ACLS required within six months of hire.
