The Surgical First Assistant provides quality individualized patient care and technical assistance during all phases of surgical operations. They collaborate with the surgical team and leadership to ensure patient safety and operational efficiency.
Requires a High School Diploma, graduation from a recognized First Assist program, and national certification (NBSTSA or NCCSA). Must be licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and preferably have at least 2 years of experience.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of a recognized First Assist program with National Certification. O a physician from another country and practicing in the United States as a First Assistant, this is acceptable.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as surgical first assistant preferred.
