The Outpatient Primary Counselor is responsible for meeting the clinical needs of clients in an adult substance abuse treatment center. This includes developing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and facilitating therapy sessions.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience working with behavioral health needs and hold a valid clinical license in Texas. Knowledge of substance abuse and recovery systems, as well as proficiency in DSM-5 application, is required.

The Outpatient Primary Counselor is responsible for meeting the clinical needs of clients receiving services in adult substance abuse treatment center, at PHP level of care. A Primary Counselor collaborates within a multidisciplinary team of medical, clinical admissions and recovery professionals to develop and facilitate a treatment plan to support clients in building the initial layers of their recovery foundation. Using clinical knowledge and skills, the Primary Counselor implements clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and address the clinical and psychosocial barriers to a client’s recovery and overall well-being.
Qualifications, licensure & education
• Addiction counseling: 1 year (Required)
Work Location: In person
Primary Counselors are assigned company cell phones and laptops for work purposes, as well as the office and tools necessary for their position and responsibilities.
