The specialist is responsible for obtaining initial insurance verification and validating pre-authorizations for outpatient imaging exams. They must identify exams requiring authorization and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained across all imaging locations.
A high school diploma or GED is required, while a bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in healthcare insurance.
The Ambulatory Authorization Specialist must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the pre-authorization process, identify exams that require authorization, and be able to validate that an authorization has been obtained. This position is responsible for obtaining initial insurance verification and validating pre-authorization for outpatient exams for all imaging locations. Will perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: EDUCATION: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelors Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: Three years minimum healthcare insurance experience required.
