The Oncology Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive healthcare services to oncology patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. They work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of cancer treatment.
Candidates must have a Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and a current New York State License as a Nurse Practitioner. National Board Certification is required, and bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
Conduct thorough physical assessments and health histories of oncology patients. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions related to oncology. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the oncology team. Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including blood work, imaging, and biopsies. Prescribe medications, including chemotherapy and supportive care treatments, within the scope of practice. Provide symptom management and supportive care, including pain, nausea, fatigue, and emotional distress. Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, side effects, and preventive measures. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed. Document all patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner in the EMR. Assist in clinical trials and research activities as applicable. Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
Salary: $135,000-$150,000 Salary may reflect bonuses and incentives
