Job description
Primary Purpose and Function
Responsible for leading Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups and providing DBT milieu intervention treatment and support to patients in partial hospitalization, residential, and intensive outpatient settings.
Required Qualifications
Master’sin counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field
Washington State provisional license (LICSWA, LMHCA, LMFTA,) or license-eligible ifout-of-state
Minimum one year (1) experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy from a behavioral orientation
Crisis management experience
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use various software programs
Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Federal and state)
Experience and literacy with Electronic Medical Records systemsand medical practice software
Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends & holidays as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Washington State Independent Licensure (PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training and experience
Experience delivering therapy to eating disorder and mood disorder patients
Experience or familiarity with Kipu EMR applications
Ability to transport patients in companyvehicles; possess a valid WA state driver’s license; successfully pass THIRA’s Driver Assessment

Provide supportive and DBT-skill based milieu intervention to patients, promoting application and generalization of DBT skills
Deliver crisis intervention services inclusive of suicide risk assessment and management, creating safety plans, de-escalating dysregulated patients, and mediating conflicts between patients
Support primarytherapistsin care of patients by addressing patient questions/concerns between individual therapy sessions and/or functioning as the covering clinician when primary therapist is unavailable
Facilitate structured Milieu and therapeutic atmosphere. Responsible for knowing and enforcing program and facility rules and redirecting patients as needed
Provide patients with support and encourage application of DBT skills and exposure activities while on community outings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamincluding other mental health therapists, prescribing clinicians, registered dieticians (RD), nursing staff, in comprehensive treatment and care planning
Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner
Join and contribute to the THIRA DBT Consultation Team
SupportBehavioralHealth Technicians and Medical Team to ensure a safe and properly supervised milieu space for patients
Utilize EMR to complete all required clinical documentation in a timely manner

Working Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors, with both artificial and natural lighting.
Equipment includes standard office equipment, i.e., computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, printer, and scanner.
Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending over, repetitive use of hands, and lifting up to 25lbs.
Position requires close contact with all THIRA Health staff and mental health patients.
Hours and days can vary within a Saturday through Friday week.
