The Spine Surgeon is responsible for diagnosing and treating spinal conditions through both surgical and non-surgical interventions. Key duties include performing spinal fusions and decompressions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient mobility.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery. Board certification or eligibility and an active medical license are required, with fellowship training in Spine Surgery preferred.
Spine Surgeon specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the spine, including degenerative diseases, injuries, and deformities. This role involves both surgical and non-surgical care, with a focus on improving patient mobility, function, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat spinal conditions (e.g., herniated discs, spinal stenosis, scoliosis) Perform surgical procedures such as spinal fusions, decompressions, and minimally invasive spine surgeries Develop individualized treatment plans, including non-surgical options when appropriate Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physical therapy, pain management, primary care) Educate patients and families on treatment options, risks, and recovery expectations Maintain accurate and timely medical records Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
