• Neonatology - Physician - Supplemental JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care - Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience.
• Physicians may work in inpatient and/or outpatient settings as needed to ensure appropriate medical staffing.
• Participate in safe, effective and compassionate patient care, commensurate with their level of advancement and responsibility.
• Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices.
• Determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medications and immunizations.
• Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care.
• May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan of care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment.
• May also plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients.
• Effective Communication - Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged.
• Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.
• Regulatory Compliance - Must be credentialed and privileged through the medical staff process and be appointed to the medical staff of CCHMC prior to performing clinical duties.
• Policy Compliance - Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
• Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing.
• Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.
