The RN provides comprehensive care to mothers during labor and delivery, including assessment, care coordination, and patient education. Responsibilities also include assisting in the OR as a scrub or circulator nurse for C-sections and managing patient discharge planning.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Michigan and hold a BLS certification. Graduation from an NLN accredited nursing school is required, and one year of acute care experience is preferred.
The role of the Registered Nurse includes leadership, direction and feedback to care team members, assessment, collaboration and coordination regarding plan of care, patient and family education, pain management, patient safety, and planning for patient discharge. This position will assist the mother through labor and delivery of her newborn. The RN will also assist the patient to move safely and effectively through their hospital stay.
