The LPN is accountable for providing direct care to assigned patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. They collaborate with RNs and MDs to implement nursing interventions and contribute to patient and family education.
Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting. The role requires a proactive nurse with strong clinical competence and the ability to handle a diverse patient population.
GENERAL PURPOSE: In an inpatient setting, remains accountable for provision of direct care to assigned patients. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system. Works as a team member and assists other staff members with implementing patient care. Assumes responsibility of care for assigned patients under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD. Participates in the plan of care, implements appropriate nursing interventions, and contributes to patient/family education through collection of data, interdisciplinary team collaboration, documentation and excellent communication. FT available. D/E/N. 8- & 12-hour shifts, holidays and weekends, on-call responsibilities. Strong West Emergency Department is a fast-paced free-standing ED that manages over 20,000 visits a year. Staff is responsible for treating a diverse patient population, from minor complaints to strokes to traumatic injuries.
