The role involves providing routine dental prophylaxis, taking X-rays, and educating patients on proper hygiene practices. Additionally, the hygienist will collaborate with dentists and help train dental hygiene students.
Candidates should have an associate degree in Dental Hygiene and a South Carolina Registered Dental Hygienist license. One year of experience is preferred, and a flu vaccine is required without exemptions.

Summary: Provides routine dental prophylaxis, supports patient education, and helps train dental hygiene students with minimal supervision. May also need access to medication storage areas and perform procedures involving medications. Perform oral prophylaxis; remove hard and soft deposits and stains from the surfaces of teeth; polish all surfaces of teeth. Apply topical fluoride to the teeth. Expose and develop radiographs. Give oral hygiene instruction and counseling. Provide nutrition and dietary counseling. Make and confirm appointments. Review medical and dental health history. Take and record blood pressure. Chart dental disease. Utilization of Epic Wisdom for charting and charge entry.
