The Chaplain Resident provides holistic, patient- and family-centered spiritual care within a healthcare team. They are responsible for meeting learning goals consistent with ACPE Level I and Level II standards.
Requires a Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree and completion of one unit of CPE. Candidates must be ordained or recognized as a spiritual leader and enrolled in an affiliated CPE program.
The Chaplain Resident will serve as a member of the health care team contributing to holistic patient and family centered care with an understanding of spiritual perspectives and the impact on coping, medical decision making, and health outcomes. As a learning and supervised member of our spiritual care team, the Chaplain Resident will be sensitive to the variety of faiths and practices to ensure competent, religiously appropriate, spiritual care is provided. The Chaplain Resident will also construct learning goals consistent with the Outcomes of Level I and Level II CPE as stated in the Standards of ACPE.
