• Department: In-House Subacute Rehabilitation Job Summary Altamaha Health Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care to residents recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient-centered care and functional recovery.

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence Accurately document patient treatments, responses, and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines Monitor resident condition and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team Educate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility policies and procedures Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented rehabilitation environment

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current Georgia PTA license in good standing CPR certification preferred Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
