Performs cardiac sonography, electrocardiography, and treadmill stress tests according to departmental guidelines. Responsible for assessing patient conditions, maintaining monitoring equipment, and completing accurate clinical documentation.
Requires a high school diploma and credentials from CCI or ARDMS in Cardiac Sonography, along with BCLS certification. A minimum of one year of cardiac sonography experience is required.
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent required BCLS certified by the American Heart Association Credentialed by the (CCI) Cardiovascular Credentialing International or (ARDMS) American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Cardiac Sonography Work Experience: 1 year of cardiac sonography experience Other cardiac diagnostic experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Understanding of medical terminology and current cardiopulmonary modalities Ability to react calmly and maintain composure in stressful situations and when dealing with co-workers, patients, and hospital guests Knowledgeable of the psychosocial and physiological development and spiritual needs of infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups (per Erickson’s Model) in order to provide appropriate care and intervention, either personally or through staff Physical Requirements: Moderate physical exertion, up to 30% of the time, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs Normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation Mental/Visual Requirements: More than 65% of time requires concentration and close attention to detail Required Licenses and Certifications Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity For exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
