Education: Required: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited school of nursing Licensure/Certification: Required: Active and unrestricted CA licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP); Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NPF) license number from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); Current board certification as NP by a nationally accredited organization in a population foci; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate to dispense controlled substances (II-V); National Provider Identifier (NPI); Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA required upon hire and Adult Acute Care or Adult Gerontological Acute Care board certification required by December 31, 2028 if assigned to Inpatient Clinical Care in the following departments: Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic (CC7550) General Surgery Clinic (Salta) (CC7434) GYN Oncology Surgery (CC7657) Hospitalists Program (CC8714) Inpatient Specialty Programs (CC7055) Stroke Service (CC7050) Trauma ACS/APPs (CC7016) Vascular Clinic (CC7563) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) from American College of Surgeons Inpatient Specialty Programs (CC7055) Trauma ACS/APPs (CC7016) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA required upon hire if assigned to the following departments: Inpatient Specialty Programs (CC7055) Stroke Service (CC7050) Trauma ACS/APPs (CC7016) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification required if assigned to the following departments: Behavioral Health Rancho Mirage (CC7336) Behavioral Health Rimrock (CC7338) Experience: Preferred: Experience as a NP providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting in assigned area of specialty; Minimum one (1) year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies if assigned to Inpatient Specialty Programs (CC7055) Reports To: Director, Chief Administrative Officer or Service Line Administrator Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Evidence-Based Patient Management: Utilizes the medical model to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care, integrating best practices and clinical guidelines to ensure optimal health outcomes. 3. Comprehensive Health Assessment: Conducts thorough patient evaluations by obtaining detailed medical histories, performing age-appropriate physical examinations, and ordering or interpreting diagnostic tests to guide clinical decision-making. 4. Clinical Reasoning & Diagnosis: Applies critical thinking to synthesize and analyze clinical data, formulating accurate differential diagnoses while integrating patient history, physical findings, and diagnostic results. 5. Personalized Treatment Planning: Develops and implements individualized, evidence-based treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, patient education, and interdisciplinary referrals as needed. 6. Ongoing Patient Evaluation: Monitors patient progress through follow-up assessments, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure therapeutic effectiveness and alignment with patient-centered goals. 7. Scope of Practice & Collaboration: Provides care in alignment with the Nursing Practice Act, scope of service, and hospital policies, consulting with physicians and specialists as needed for comprehensive patient management. 8. Accurate & Timely Documentation: Ensures meticulous documentation of all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital and clinic policies to maintain compliance and continuity of care. 9. Quality Improvement & Professional Engagement: Actively participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, contributing to hospital and clinic efforts to enhance patient safety, care efficiency, and clinical outcomes. 10. Resource Optimization & Cost-Effectiveness: Demonstrates responsible utilization of healthcare resources, aligning clinical practice with internal and external benchmarking, service line metrics and institutional budgetary goals while maintaining high-quality care standards. 11. Regulatory & Professional Compliance: Meets Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) standards as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, adhering to all NP Standardized Procedures, policies, and protocols relevant to Eisenhower Health. 12.
