The Registered Dietitian II provides high-quality nutrition care through comprehensive assessments, interventions, and monitoring of patient nutritional status. They also serve as a mentor for Registered Dietitian I staff and a resource for the broader healthcare team.
Requires a Bachelor's or advanced degree in dietetics or nutrition and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) and possess at least one specialty certification from CDR, NBNSC, or CBDCE.
LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: Inpatient Specific: Regular and active participation in a hospital committee that meets at least six (6) times annually and brings back pertinent information to the department Performs key role in at least one performance improvement initiative annually or the creation/revision of nutrition protocols or nutrition programs Assists in the clinical competency reviews of Registered Dietitian I Outpatient Specific: Assists in the creation/revision of patient education materials or patient classes at direction of department leadership Assists in the orientation and clinical training of new employees Performs a key role in at least one performance improvement initiative annually, including but not limited to regular attendance at meetings, information dissemination, data collection, input on A3 components, and implementation of barrier mitigations LEVEL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: At least one (1) specialty certification granted by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC), or Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE). Specialty certifications granted by other organizations will be reviewed for validity and relevance to the position. Preferred
Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process. Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy. Critical thinking to integrate facts, informed opinions, and observations to support decision-making in patient care. Effective communication in written, verbal, and electronic form to health professionals, medical staff, patients, and public. General knowledge of electronic health records and common computer applications. Strong organizational skills and the ability to accomplish assigned work with time constraints. Ability to function independently on assigned patient care units and/or outpatient clinics. Ability to work as a valued team member, but also autonomously. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $42.24 - $54.60 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
