• We are looking for another full-time Speech Pathologist to join our team!
• This work setting is multidisciplinary acute care, where collaboration is a must.
• We have 22 speech pathologists who support our inpatient adult population.
• Our team members have a wide range of experience, education, and skills.
• Ongoing education and skill development are emphasized and encouraged.
• We are a Trauma 1 academic acute care, so you will see a wide variety of patient diagnosis with opportunity to step outside your comfort zone – learn something new every day!

• This individual will evaluate, diagnose, and treat swallowing, speech, language, voice and cognitive-communication difficulties.
• Recommends discharge disposition to next level of care appropriately.
• Performs speech pathology services including diagnostic evaluations to determine level of impairment.
• After administering the appropriate tests and measures, a treatment plan is designed for improved communication and swallowing.
• Performs direct patient care services including the supervision of support personnel and students.
• Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education, and department operations.

Experience is preferred in the following areas

tracheostomy and speaking valve use, including in-line with a ventilator. MBSImp and MOCA certification are also preferred. Strong candidates will have independence with swallowing instrumental assessments (VFSS, FEES) and previous acute care experience.

• This is a full-time salary/exempt position who will work five 8-hour days M-F. Occasional weekend availability is also required.
• Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in speech pathology; or, if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
