Provides primary nursing support to physicians and patients to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Works under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification exam is preferred. CPR certification is required.
A Medical Assistant works as an unlicensed person who assists in the medical practice under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner; provides primary nursing support to the physician and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition. Proof of completion of Medical Assistant program and/or successful completion of a Medical Assistant Certification Exam preferred.
