  • Description of Work The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on the PICU.
  • This position will deal with the most acute and aggressive patients and will require more extensive training to handle the challenges presented to them within this unit.
  • As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve.
  • Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $31,235 - $46,852 *A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting who applies between June 1st - August 31st, 2026, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
  • CNA's (Nursing Department Only) Total $15,000 Receive $4,000 in 1st paycheck Receive $5,000 after 12 consecutive months.
  • Receive $6,000 after 18 consecutive months.
  • Candidates must now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
  • The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
  • Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotions and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. *As a condition for continued employment: Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • This Position Is Designated as Mandatory and Must Report or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
  • We Will Be Recruiting for Multiple Positions with This Post.

  • Shift Premiums for 8- Hour Shifts: Day: Saturday and Sunday 5% Evening: Monday-Friday 10%, Saturday and Sunday 15% Night: Friday-Sunday 15%, Monday-Thursday 10% Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus: To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible.
  • Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
  • An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: ·The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) ·The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency ·DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
