Requires an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician capable of performing technical surgical support and patient restraint. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is adding an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to our Specialty Surgery Team.
Provide direct patient care and surgical support to veterinarians. This role focuses on anesthesia, surgical assistance, patient monitoring, and maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment. --- Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Monitoring · Deliver medical care according to treatment plans · Monitor patients and maintain accurate medical records · Ensure proper patient identification (ID collar, cage card, documentation) Surgical & Technical Support ·Assist veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and lab procedures · Prepare and restrain patients safely for procedures · Maintain surgical logs, anesthesia records, and controlled substance logs Operations & Workflow · Organize daily treatment and surgical schedules to support efficient workflow · Maintain accurate charges for procedures, medications, and services · Work independently when needed to ensure continuous patient care Client Communication Educate clients on treatments, medications, post-op care, and general animal care Facility & Patient Maintenance · Maintain a clean, safe environment (treatment areas, cages, surgical spaces) · Ensure patient hygiene, including bathing, feeding, and bedding General Expectations · Support hospital operations as needed · Follow all safety and animal care protocols · Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays --- Physical Requirements · Frequently stand, walk, bend, and restrain animals · Ability to lift 40 lbs and assist with moving patients · Perform tasks requiring reaching, kneeling, and crouching · Work in a fast-paced clinical environment Why join the VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists Specialty Surgery Team : Benefits: VCA offers a comprehensive benefits package to support the health, well-being, and professional development of its associates.
