Provide compassionate patient care in an urgent care setting, including diagnosis, treatment, and triage for adults and children. Manage patient flow, perform minor surgical procedures, and collaborate with clinical staff and leadership to ensure quality care.
Requires a Master's degree for NPs or a Bachelor's for PAs, along with Rhode Island state licensure and BLS certification. Minimum of one year of related experience is required, with a preference for Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine backgrounds.
Reports to the Medical Director and the Director of Operations; will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient, and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Mentors clinical personnel, and serves as a liaison with patients, staff, providers, and leadership. Can perform independently and as part of a treatment team.
Assess, plan, and treat patient needs within an urgent care setting and triage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent care for adults and children 18 months and up. Effectively manage private, pre-employment and workers compensation patients. Order medically indicated labs, x-rays, ECG’s, point-of-care tests, injections, referrals, and prescribe medications/treatments. Perform digital blocks and local anesthesia. Perform minor surgical procedures such as lacerations and incision and drainage. Consult with other Providers on medical care as necessary. Maintain and adequate patient flow on-site by directing and communicating clearly with assisting clinical staff. Maintain quality assurance of charts and testing.Handle telephone calls and follow up care about services rendered from patients, providers, company accounts, as well as other clinical staff. Attend required provider/staff meetings.Maintain excellent and timely patient records for clinical use, billing use, Physician and peer review.Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments. Manage patients who do not require complex medical management or specialized treatment. Demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, and implement individual patient care appropriate to the age and specific needs of the patient. Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age. Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner. Active participation in the development/review of office policies and procedures as well as instructional handoutsPromotes a safety-conscious work force. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
