The Health Unit Coordinator manages administrative tasks to support the nursing team, including maintaining patient records and ordering supplies. They are also responsible for scheduling resident transportation and handling professional communications.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and proficiency with computers and EMR systems. Previous experience in a medical office role and familiarity with medical terminology are preferred.
Maintain accurate patient records and unit documentation. Schedule appointments in collaboration with clinical team members. Manage telephone calls, messages, and inquiries efficiently and professionally. Order and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies. Support a positive and organized environment within the healthcare unit. High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical or administrative certification is a plus. Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, medical records or similar medical office role preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting. ability to work with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
