The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient wound care setting, assisting providers with direct patient care and diagnostic procedures. They are responsible for documenting care in EHR systems, maintaining medical equipment, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, with certification preferred. Experience in an outpatient or primary care setting and proficiency in clinical skills like phlebotomy and EKG are strongly desired.
The Certified Medical Assistant supports the delivery of patient care in an outpatient setting by performing clinical, administrative, and technical tasks under the supervision of a licensed provider. This role requires initiative, teamwork, and effective communication with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and coworkers. The Certified Medical Assistant provides patient-centered care to individuals across the lifespan, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, clinical protocols, and applicable federal and state regulations. The role supports care coordination, quality improvement initiatives, and promotes a safe and efficient clinical environment.
