The Family Therapist assesses and provides voluntary therapy and support services to families formed through adoption and subsidized guardianship. Responsibilities include conducting mental health assessments, creating treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions in the field.
A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required, along with a valid driver's license. Licensure (LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT) is preferred, but unlicensed applicants with a Master's degree are encouraged to apply.

Assessment: Conducts mental health assessments. Service/Treatment Planning: With the input of client families, plans services and treatments/therapy that will strengthen and support the families and focus child(ren). All Individualized Treatment Plans must be Medicaid Rule 132 and COA compliant. Mentoring, Advocating, Supporting, and Educating: In accordance with the service goals, provides mentoring, advocacy, support, and education that will protect children, preserve families and enhance the mental health of children and families alike. Therapeutic Interventions: Provides appropriate therapeutic interventions (therapy) that will support the focus child(ren) and their families to enhance their overall level of functioning. Record keeping: Documentation must meet agency and grant funding requirements for timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
