Must meet Virginia state requirements for the title of Dietitian/Nutritionist and possess comprehensive knowledge of nutrition and dietetics. Registered Dietitian status and prior experience with the WIC program are preferred.

Provides nutrition services to clients in a variety of settings within a district. Characteristic activities include conducting patient nutritional assessments and evaluations in the clinic, school and community settings, developing and monitoring nutritional care plans and food packages. Certifies clients for participation in available public health programs, schedules, provides and documents basic and secondary/high risk nutrition education; makes referrals to programs such as Medicaid, AFDC, and SNAP benefits. May perform other related administrative tasks.
The Prince William Health District is a growing, diverse, and dynamic community in Northern Virginia located approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C.
This is a restricted position which is solely funded by the Federal WIC Grant for a one year period ending September 30th. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually and periodically thereafter. Employment is contingent on the continued availability of grant funds.
