• Summary: Under the direction of the Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging administration and/or Lead - the Ultrasonographer performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease.

• Responsibilities:
• Move transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observe sound wave display on screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
• Perform abdominal, OB-GYN, vascular, and small parts sonography.
• Assist radiologists with ultrasound guided procedures.
• Discuss test findings with the radiologist.
• Explain procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam
• Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease.
