Responsibilities

• Under the direction of physical therapists, provide patient care through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Record patients’ progress and report results of each treatment to the supervising physical therapist.
• Assist with gait training, transfers, balance activities, and use of assistive devices as prescribed.
• Maintain safety and comfort during treatments; monitor patient responses and adjust activities as directed.
• Document and communicate patient status to the rehabilitation team; contribute to care planning and progress notes.
• Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring infection control and proper setup for sessions.

Requirements

• Active Texas PTA license or compact license
• Minimum 2 years PTA experience
• Ability to work a travel assignment with a guaranteed 40-hour week
• Comfortable working in a long-term care setting

• Education and Certifications
• PTA credential (associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting) is assumed as standard; licensure must be active in Texas or a compact state.
