The Medical Assistant supports physicians during dermatologic procedures and examinations by preparing patients and taking vital signs. They are also responsible for maintaining patient records, managing supplies, and educating patients on treatment plans.
A high school diploma is required, and a Medical Assistant certification is preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of medical terminology and proficiency with EHR systems.
Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and detailed medical histories. Assist physicians during examinations and dermatologic procedures by providing necessary clinical support. Perform basic laboratory tests and handle specimen collection and processing accurately. Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Schedule patient appointments and facilitate effective communication within the clinical team. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and appropriate skincare routines. Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with medical supplies. High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred. Experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical experience is preferred. Understanding of medical terminology, particularly relating to dermatology. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for patient and team interactions. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and common office software is advantageous.
