The Laboratory Assistant prepares samples for transport to reference laboratories and performs CLIA-waived testing. They are also responsible for patient registrations, processing orders, and maintaining records.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. No prior professional experience is necessary.
This position will be required to work various hours, including weekends.
Under the direction of the manager, the Laboratory Assistant is responsible for preparing samples for transport to the appropriate reference laboratory; and performing Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-waived testing under supervision of a technologist/technician. The Laboratory Assistant performs Laboratory patient registrations, processes orders, and records maintenance.
