• Summary: Assigns and sequences International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10-CM) diagnosis and procedures codes correctly.
• Job
• Responsibilities: Reviews patient records in a timely manner in order to identify an appropriate selection of codes that will accurately reflect the reason for admission, extent of care received, and level of severity of illness. Assigns and sequences International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10-CM) diagnosis and procedures codes correctly. Seeks clarification from medical records and healthcare providers when necessary. Enhances coding knowledge and skills with continuing education activities and by reviewing pertinent literature.

• Requirements: Work Experience A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire Licensure/Certification/Registration HCS-D - Home Care Coding Specialist - Diagnosis through Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BMSC) required within 12 months of employment in this position OR HCS-O - Home Care Clinical Specialist - OASIS through Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BMSC) required within 12 months of employment in this position AND COS-C - Certificate for OASIS Specialist - Clinical through OASIS Certificate and
