MRI Technologist - Westmont - Evenings Position Highlights: Full-Time; 40

Hours

• Monday-Friday 11:30pm-8:00pm.
• Two weekend days per month from 7:30am-4:00pm.Holiday and Travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, with the primary responsibility of completing diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of the radiologist.
• This would include, but not limited to: performing routine MRIs and MRAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories and starting I.V.s, to administer IV contrast.
• Maintain a positive imaging environment for our patients and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
• Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas Ensures proper MRI safety standards are met Ensures that all ferromagnetic materials are located outside of scan room Able to explain correct emergency shutdown procedures Able to properly demonstrate fire and safety evacuations Patient transfer/transport equipment is checked to ensure compliance with safe operational standards Operates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols Completes necessary protocolling tasks Performs ordered examinations according to written MRI protocols Properly identifies (three unique identifiers).
• Introduction to patient is performed using name and role title.
• Procedure is explained in laymen’s terms using educational/informational aids (books,pamphlets, interpreter, etc.) when necessary.
• Time is allowed for patient feedback and questions, ensuring all questions are addressed prior to exam start.
• Completion of MRI screening forms is verified and information provided is validated.
• Starts IV access according to standard procedure and injects media under the direction of a physician.
