The Anesthesia Technician assists anesthesiologists with patient monitoring lines, difficult intubations, and other invasive procedures. They are also responsible for the maintenance, stocking, and calibration of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Candidates must be Basic Life Support certified and possess the ability to work under pressure and rotate shifts. Preferred qualifications include completion of an accredited anesthesia program and knowledge of medical software and pharmacology.
Your Role on the Team
The Anesthesia Tech assists the anesthesiologists with the placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations, as well as any other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining, ordering, and stocking anesthesia supplies and equipment providing first line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting. Works closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to ensure that all equipment and supplies are within the required expiration dates, available, well maintained and clean.

The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator Availability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends Ability to speak, read and follow directions in English
Knowledge of medical computer software systems Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and principles of anesthesia technology Completion of an anesthesia program from an accredited institution Certified Anesthesia Tech
