The PMHNP provides comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health services, including evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for patients with mental health and substance use disorders. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Candidates must hold a current PMHNP certification, an active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license, and DEA registration. Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to travel between organizational locations are required.
Required Qualifications Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio. Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority consistent with state and federal regulations. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning, and medication management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Ability and willingness to travel between multiple organizational locations as needed. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
Experience in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, or medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Experience working in outpatient behavioral health, community mental health, or integrated healthcare settings. Familiarity with integrated behavioral health models and multidisciplinary treatment approaches. Knowledge of evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Work Environment Primarily outpatient and/or community-based behavioral health settings. Frequent interaction with patients experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Travel between organizational locations required to meet patient care needs. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform routine clinical duties for extended periods. Ability to travel between organizational locations. Ability to use computers, telehealth platforms, and electronic health record systems as required to perform essential job functions.
