The physician will provide examination, treatment, and assessment of acute injuries and illnesses for a medically-underserved population. Responsibilities include prescribing medications, interpreting lab tests, and managing patient records in compliance with regulations.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience and a medical degree (MD/DO). Strong communication skills and the ability to independently formulate treatment plans in a fast-paced environment are required.
Work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide examination and treatment of patients. Perform assessment and treatment of acute injuries, infections, and illnesses. Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities. Keep and maintain appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered. Prepare and review reports, claims, and correspondences. Ensure that records and documentation are in compliance with Federal and State regulations. Provide in-office and telemedicine services to patients. Prescribe medication and treatment for patients. Recommend appropriate physical and dietary routines and methods for disease prevention and maintaining personal hygiene. Refer patients to other physicians or appropriate resources when needed. Follow up on all outside referrals, labs, and consults.
Previous experience of at least 2 years. Ability to establish a healthy rapport with patients and their families. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. Ability to independently evaluate patients, establish differential diagnoses, order necessary tests/investigations as appropriate, and formulate treatment plans. Practice evidence-based medicine and update medical knowledge based on the latest treatment guidelines and recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
