Perform technical 2D echocardiography, Doppler, and color flow scans to identify normal and abnormal anatomy. Assist physicians in obtaining real-time diagnostic images and perform transesophageal echocardiography.
Requirements summary
Requires a high school diploma, CPR certification, and RDMS or RVT certification. Experience in echocardiography, transcranial Doppler, and carotid ultrasound is preferred.
Demonstrates technical expertise in 2-dimensional echocardiography. All structures are adequately defined and measured and.or demonstrates technical expertise in cerebrovascular ultrasound.
Possesses a working knowledge of anatomy and demonstrates significant pathology by utilizing recommended and stated views as related to procedure. Distinguishes normal and abnormal anatomy on scans. Appropriately determines when all anatomy is adequately demonstrated and recorded before terminating an exam.
Performs Doppler exam and understands blood flow patterns by Doppler spectrum analysis. Performs the Doppler scan by using pulse, continuous, and independent probes, recognizing normal and abnormal flow patterns.
Demonstrates technical expertise in performing color flow scans. Produces real-time images of optimal quality. Understands and is able to delineate color flow patterns.
Assists the physician in obtaining real time images, demonstrating all structures and recording diagnostic findings.
Performs transesophageal echocardiography.
MINIMUM
Qualfications:
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Transcranial Doppler experience preferred.
CPR certification required.
Carotid ultrasound experience preferred (a must for carotid ultrasound tech position).
RDMS or RVT
Echocardiography experience, prefer experience with all stress echo procedures.
