RN, Pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT

• Department Overview The Hematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant unit operates 24/7 and provides exceptional care to patients with life-threatening diseases and disorders such as cancer, immune disorders, and blood disorders.

• Obstetric patients less than 18 with a new Hem/Onc/BMT diagnosis are case by case.
• Patients with specific pediatric oncology diagnosis may be followed until the age of 25 years.
• Presenting diagnosis may include leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, Bone Marrow Transplants and Graft vs Host Disease patients.
• Nurses on this unit also provide support to Hem/Onc/BMT patients on other units, to include but not limited to chemotherapy support, expertise with BMT patients and central lines.
• Required Qualifications 2 years+ RN experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or Adult Oncology BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
• ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
• Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License BLS and PALS from AHA required.
• New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation APHON/ONS Chemotherapy; APHON must be acquired after start date.
