The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and assists physicians and nurses with examinations and minor procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining supplies, preparing charts, and managing the prior authorization process.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA within 30 days. Competency in disinfection and sterilization processes is required.
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
