The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens via skin and capillary punctures and performing EKGs for outpatients. They also handle the processing of test requisitions, specimen handling according to protocol, and coordinating results with medical staff.
Candidates must be high school graduates with on-the-job training in a clinical laboratory. One year of experience is preferred, along with the ability to perform procedures across all age groups from neonates to geriatric patients.
