Requires at least one year of dental assistant experience along with Radiology and CPR certifications. Candidates must be physically capable of standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and performing CPR.

We are looking for a professional, dedicated and reliable dental assistant to work part-time or full-time at the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston, MA.
Provide direct assistance by keeping the operating field clear, passing instruments and suctioning. Sterilize instruments in the dental office. Responsible for mixing of restorative materials. Assist in taking intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays. Develop and mount x-ray films. Perform intra-oral tasks as defined by law. Ensure that there are a sufficient number of trays set up for the day’s patients: pulpotomy, caries control, amalgam, perio/scaling. Maintain x-ray unit, processor, autoclave and dental units according to specifications. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dental clinics by cleaning the area daily and sanitizing the area weekly. Take inventory of supplies and equipment to maintain sufficient levels. Order supplies and equipment as needed with approval of the dentist. It is an essential part of the job that CPS can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours. Follow all security rules and regulations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Education: 1 year of dental assistant experience Radiology Certification CPR certification required Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds. Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
