The Instrument Technician cleans, assembles, and sterilizes medical equipment and supplies across various hospital departments. They are also responsible for material management of par levels and accurate documentation of the sterilization process.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a sterile processing course or equivalent experience. Certification from HSPA (CRCST) or CBSPD (CSPDT) is mandatory.

Under the department leadership, the Instrument Technician is responsible to provide support services in the perioperative setting, including main OR, Short Stay Unit, and the PACU and all other hospital departments. Cleans, assembles equipment, sterilizes and disinfects supplies, instruments, and equipment according to established policies and procedures. Performs material management functions in relation to par levels. Accurately documents the sterilization process. Experience Previous experience in sterile processing or current certification in sterile processing required. Education High school diploma, G.E.D. required. Completion of a sterile processing course or equivalent work experience in instrument processing required. Licensure/Certifications Certification from HSPA – CRCST or CBSPD – CSPDT required Equal Opportunity Employer Assigned Work Hours: 1.0 FTE Full Time, 2:00pm-10:30pm Position Type: Regular Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $37.61 to $50.32 The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
