The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive surgical patient care, including performing physical exams, writing orders, and assisting in surgical procedures. They are responsible for managing pre- and post-operative care, conducting daily rounds, and preparing discharge summaries.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Bachelor's degree and a valid New York State license. Orthopedic experience and BLS/ACLS certifications are preferred.
The Physician Assistant is supervised by the House Surgeon. He/she works in the patient care unit with the House Surgeon and other in-house staff (Interns, Residents and Students).
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Health Sciences, required. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
