The Chaplain assesses and addresses the spiritual needs of hospice patients and their families within an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include coordinating spiritual services, providing bereavement support, and assisting with funeral planning and end-of-life training.
Candidates must have at least 2-3 units of CPE with a plan to complete 4, and 5 years of related experience including healthcare chaplaincy. A Master's degree is preferred, along with a valid driver's license and current TB test results.
5 years related experience and/or training; prior healthcare chaplaincy experience required. Exceptional listening skills. Knowledge of death, dying and bereavement preferred, as well as experience with end of life issues and hospice services. Able to work with individuals as well as a commitment to organizational goals; knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; time management. Must be able to read, write and communicate face to face and by phone effectively in English. Requires computer skills. Prior experience using electronic health systems preferred. Valid driver's license, personal auto and current auto liability insurance. Satisfactory results from current TB test.
Master's Degree from an accredited institution preferred. At least three units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) required with the intent to complete all four units for certification.
