Chaplain-Pastoral Care Associate

Job Summary

• The associate chaplain projects God's love by providing pastoral care to patients, families and colleagues through routine and/or referral visitation, crisis and bereavement care, support activities, educational events, and worship services.
• These services are provdided during the staff member's assigned shift and on-call rotations for nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Staff members are subject to recall as needed.
• The position is under the general supervision and direction of the director of Pastoral Care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Job Responsibilities
• Provides pastoral care through routine and/or referral visitation.
• Provides crisis and bereavement care during times of deaths, codes, and other emergencies.
• Provides pastoral care as appropriate for a special shift or assignment
• Completes assigned goals.

Experience

Minimum Required

1 year experience in providing pastoral care through work in a church, previous service as a volunteer chaplain, or other related ministries.

Preferred/Desired

2 years experience in providing pastoral care through work in a church, previous service as a volunteer chaplain, or other related ministries.

Education

Minimum Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferably including coursework in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Care, Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
