  • As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues.
  • Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.
  • A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours.
  • Availability to work nights from 7:00PM – 7:00AM is needed.
  • A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages.
  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform VNA punctures as necessary.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level.
  • Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire Current state licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
