The provider evaluates and treats patients with medical and surgical problems under the supervision of a licensed physician. Responsibilities include performing patient histories, interpreting diagnostic tests, and participating in quality assurance activities.
Requires a NYS-approved Physician Assistant program completion, a valid New York State license, and NCCPA certification. Candidates must also possess a DEA registration, an Infection Control certificate, and BLS/ACLS certifications.
Under the general supervision of a licensed physician, the provider evaluates and treats patients having medical and/or surgical problems. Performs patient histories and physical examinations and performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests and/or procedures as detailed in the department specific scope of practice. Participates in teaching and quality assurance activities with other members of the clinical department. Delivers direct patient care.
