The coordinator manages organ donation activities within assigned facilities to maximize organ yield and ensure efficient recovery. This includes evaluating potential donors, coordinating with transplant surgeons, and providing support to donor families.
Requires a nursing or related healthcare degree (RN/PA) and one to two years of experience as a Donation or Organ Recovery Coordinator. A valid driver's license and the ability to work under stress with extensive on-call flexibility are essential.
Sierra Donor Services - New Mexico (SDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at SDS is to save lives through organ donation and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We want people to join our team in the role of Inhouse Recovery Coordinator with previous experience as a registered nurse (RN) in an ICU or critical care setting.
New Mexico Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of New Mexico – and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family.
For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.

Talks and listens to donor families, hospital personnel, and physicians. Visually assesses donors. Reads charts and documents information. Walks, stands, and sits. Lifts and carries containers up to 70 lbs. Drives to and from donor hospitals. Must be able to stand for more than eight hours a day. Requires the ability to work under stress with numerous interruptions, distractions, and changing priorities. Must have a valid driver’s license and ready access to reliable transportation.
RN/PA or related health care degree or licensure. Or OPO experience commensurate with job requirements.
Minimum one to two years experience as a Donation Coordinator or Organ Recovery Coordinator.
Valid driver license required and ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements. May be required to use privately owned vehicle during the scope of company business.
Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry skills required.
