Job Description

Under general supervision by the Medical Director and Histology Supervisor, the Histotechnologist performs specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, routine, special and immunohistochemistry stains. Duties include completion of quality control records, maintenance of supplies and reagents and performance of general preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.This is an enterprise position. Will be expected, as needed, to accept work assignments across departments or El Camino Hospital campuses (Mountain View and Los Gatos) or locations within a 15-mile radius.QUALIFICATIONS1. Associates degree in life science required.2. Bachelor's degree preferred.3. ASCP histopathology certification (HT or HTL) preferred.4. Two years of experience as a histotechnologist in a high-volume hospital histology laboratory within the last five years.5. Ability to perform in high-volume (cut 100 blocks/shift) laboratory.6. Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.

Salary Range
