Laboratory Support Technician
Wake Forest, NC | Full-Time | $20.00/hour (Eligible for P4P Bonus System after 90 days) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (Some evenings/weekends & overtime as needed)
What You’ll Do
This isn’t just another lab job. You’ll support high-impact lab operations, keep cutting-edge equipment running smoothly, and help process life-critical samples—all under the guidance of experienced clinical scientists.
Your day-to-day will include
Duties
include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and processing human specimens (urine/oral fluid) for LC-MS/MS
Assisting with laboratory tests of varying complexity using standard procedures on human specimens for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease
Analyzing test or experiment results to ensure conformity to specifications using special mechanical or electrical devices
Setting up, maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and testing sterility of medical laboratory equipment
Running proficiency testing samples on equipment per SOPs (as applicable)
Assisting with CLIA-waived testing
Maintaining laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents; notifying appropriate staff when inventory is low
Assisting with troubleshooting equipment problems and coordinating service as necessary (with guidance); documenting all equipment maintenance, both routine and troubleshooting
Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation and lab environment
Remaining up-to-date and compliant on all required and assigned training related to laboratory safety, testing procedures, and equipment maintenance
Supporting special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Following laboratory procedures for sample management, test analyses, quality control, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results, compliance, and documentation/testing of proficiency testing samples

Minimum Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Clinical Chemistry, or a relatable Life Science
Transcripts are required for Compliance review
Prior experience in a clinical/toxicology lab
Familiarity with prescription drug monitoring or SAMHSA protocols
Experience reviewing analytical data and running QC
Important Note About Work Schedule
Please note
This is a volume-dependent role, and daily workload can fluctuate based on the arrival times of specimens via UPS and FedEx. While we strive to maintain a balanced work schedule, there may be days or weeks when higher sample volumes require extended work hours, including evenings and weekends. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing demands are essential for success in this position.
