Partners with families of children and youth receiving mental health services to provide guidance, encouragement, and support based on lived experience. Facilitates parent support groups and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to execute integrated treatment plans.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma and lived experience raising a child with a mental illness. Requires completion of the Minnesota DHS-approved Certified Family Peer Specialist training and certification exam.

Range Mental Health Center is proud to be a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The goals of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics program in MN are to 1) increase access to community-based mental health and substance use disorder services (particularly to under-served communities), 2) advance integration of behavioral health with physical health care, and 3) improve utilization of evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis. As part of our commitment to supporting employees in their professional development, we offer 100% employer provided clinical supervision at no cost to staff in therapy positions or any role requiring clinical licensure. This includes weekly supervision in accordance with all licensing board requirements. Our structure also includes weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and monthly staff meetings. A Certified Family Peer Specialist (CFPS) partners with families of children and youth receiving mental health services to provide encouragement, guidance, and support. Drawing from lived experience, CFPS staff help families build on their strengths, navigate challenges, and support their child’s resiliency and recovery. CFPS services are nonclinical and family-centered, focusing on helping caregivers develop skills, knowledge, confidence, and community connections that strengthen the family and support the child or youth’s treatment goals across home, schools, and community settings.
