Perform a full range of complex cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures for adult and pediatric patients, including specialized echoes and ECGs. Assist in the training of fellows and students while managing equipment and patient positioning.
Must have ARDMS and/or CCI certification with at least two years of experience in cardiac ultrasound and adult echocardiology. BLS certification is required, and a college background in Allied Health Sciences is preferred.
Your Role on the Team
Incumbent perform the full range of cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the more complex specialized procedures on adult and pediatric patients. This includes M-mode, 2 & 3 dimensional, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echo, pharmacological and exercise stress echo, Holter monitors and ECGs. Recognizes and describes abnormal findings and tailors the procedure to provide a comprehensive exam. The cardiac sonographer makes the decision as to when an echo contrast agent &/or agitated saline injections according to the CVC policy. Will prepare and position patients, adjust equipment to best demonstrate area of interest, operate various stationary and portable equipment and imaging systems. Will rotate shifts and assignments as needed, including after hour on-call. The Sr. Ultrasound Technologist assists in the training of fellows and students as assigned.
What It Takes to be Successful
Must possess A.R.D.M.S. and/or CCI Certification Must have two years experience in cardiac ultrasound Must have two years experience in adult echocardiology Ability to regularly travel locally to Ambulatory Clinic off-site locations
Registered in pediatric echocardiography - RDCS Must have two years of college with emphasis in Allied Health Sciences, preferably Diagnostic Medical Sonography
